I use this newsletter to send Bible studies as much as once per week, sometimes less, but never more. See back issues.

Best of Ancient-Faith.com and OldOldStory.org Blogs

What makes a blog post a "best of"? I chose three criteria:

  • I judge the post to be important.
  • The post got several "this changed my life" comments.
  • The most popular posts

My blogs will all be united here now. For the most recent posts, see What's New.

My books, and those I have published for others, consistently maintain 4-star and better ratings despite the occasional 1- and 2-star ratings from people angry about my kicking over sacred cows.

Brief Description

I am a slave of King Jesus first, a student of the Bible second, and lastly a student of early church history (the first four centuries of the church) and of church history in general.

The main purpose of my blog posts is to "earnestly contend for the faith once for all delivered to the saints." I believe, hope, and pray that my posts help readers know God, follow Jesus, and understand the Bible better. One of the main ways I do this is by showing my readers early Christianity in both the Scriptures and the writings of the early churches, then showing how we got from there to the traditions of the twenty-first century.

My Top Blog Post

In November of 2014 I made an attempt to write an overview of the Gospel from knowing nothing to finding the power to live as a disciple of Jesus. I sat on the two posts for over two months, wondering if I wasn't overstepping my bounds in attempting such a project. Finally, on February 3rd and 5th, 2015, I published the posts. They were two of the most well-received posts I have ever published.

I have now added a third on a similar subject and a fourth on an equally important subject, both from 2017.
